The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 comes equipped with several new enhancements that help it remain competitive in a world of emerging EVs. The all-electric crossover SUV sees upgrades such as steering wheel haptic feedback and in-car Wi-Fi. There are also new safety features aimed at safeguarding drivers. In anticipation of its partnership with Amazon, Hyundai has been actively involved in revamping its lineup. In addition to the Ioniq 5, the South Korean automaker has also updated other vehicles like the Tucson and Santa Fe giving them redesigns and refreshes. While the Hyundai Ioniq 5 was not in dire need of any updates, it shows Hyundai’s commitment to remain a top automaker. We’ll take a closer look at the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 and see what consumers can expect.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Is A Good Choice For New EV Owners

For the 2024 model year, Hyundai is updating the Hyundai Ioniq 5 with a series of upgrades that target safety and convenience. As the winner of the 2022 World Car Awards, the Ioniq 5 has already showcased its remarkable capability and versatility, but now the crossover SUV is even more competitive. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 features improved capability offering rear-side airbags and rear outboard seat belt pre-tensioners. Additional improvements include a steering wheel haptic feedback system that improves lane-keep assist and the option for in-car Wi-Fi connectivity.

For performance, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 offers several configurations. The base model employs a single motor combined with a 58 kWh battery. This setup delivers 168 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Another configuration utilizes a single motor as well but this time it’s paired with a long-range 77.4 kWh battery. Together, it produces 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. For enthusiasts seeking elevated performance, the dual-motor version is the optimal choice. This configuration makes use of the same 77.4 kWh battery combined with two electric motors for a total output of 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque. Even more impressive is that it’s capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 5 seconds.

Looking inside the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5, owners will note a spacious cabin with a minimalist design. The inclusion of a movable center console adds extra space for both the driver and passengers. There are dual 12.3-inch display screens that serve as the digital gauge cluster and an infotainment display. Driver-assist features like the heads-up system offer essential information for safety. Storage capacity is limited to 27.2 cubic feet behind the second row and 59 cubic feet with the seats folded down. There’s also a front trunk. The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 starts at an MSRP of $41,650 (plus destination fee). With these latest updates, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 maintains its reputation as a dependable and capable electric SUV.
